Digital X-Rays (Radiographs)

Doctor Vester is pleased to provide his patients with the latest in advanced, digital radiography.

How do Radiographs Help?

Dental x-rays or radiographs are very important. They allow the Doctor to see things about your teeth and bone that cannot be seen by the naked eye. This might be decay forming between the teeth, under crowns or bridges, under existing fillings, or more potentially dangerous conditions such as tumors, cysts or cancers.

Advantages of Digital Radiography

We were the first area office to integrate Digital X-Rays into our plan for patient care. Digital x-rays have many advantages when compared with old fashioned film-based machines, including:

Best of all, it's easy for you to see what the doctor sees. Your digital x-ray can be seen on a computer screen located next to your dental chair. This helps you understand your needs and make an informed choice about treatment.

Specialty X-Rays Available in Our Office

In addition to the common "Periapical" and "Bitewing" x-rays that are the mainstay of dental diagnosis, we also incorporate the use of digital panoramic x-rays. These x-rays make an image of the entire jaw area including the teeth and jaw joints.

Our newest technology is the "Cone Beam Computerized Tomography" x-ray similar to a CT-scan you might have at the hospital. The CBCT system produces a 3-demensional x-ray allowing us to see objects much more clearly, and in proper relationship to one another. Among other things, this makes placing dental implants more precise and safer, as well as helping plan jaw surgeries and extractions.
